Farming Project


BENEFICIARIES: HIV/AIDS orphaned children, street children and

children from poor families under the custody of Another Hope

Children's Ministry located in Wakiso District and the surrounding areas

in Uganda

OBJECTIVES:

1. To provide a constant source of food for the children.

2. To improve the nutritional status of the children.

3. To teach life-time farming skills to the children

4. To provide employment for the people.

IMPLEMENTATION:
The funds will be managed by Another Hope Children's Ministry, Wakiso Uganda. AHCM will closely monitor the progress of the project and will also provide the technical and professional assistance needed to ensure the success and sustainability of the project.

A group of ten older children will be selected and be trained in farm management. The selected ten children will be responsible for managing the farm (under the leadership of a full time farm manager). The farm manager will be hired to manage the farm project and will report to the Executive Director of AHCM about the progress of the project on a regular basis.


BENEFITS OF THE PROJECT TO THE COUNTRY:

The project will ensure a continuous food supply to AHCM.

The project will help in producing healthy children in the nation.

The project will provide employment opportunities to the local people.

The project will contribute to the eradication of illiteracy and poverty,

hence leading to development

BUDGET:

The total amount needed for the first 12 months is $20,533 USD. After

the first 12 months, the farm will generate enough food for the children

as well as a surplus that will be sold so that the project will be able to

sustain itself.
